Harry J. Curry, Jr. – Senior Pastor

As Pastor, Harry is responsible for preaching the Word, prayer, casting a vision for our ministry and ministering to people.

Harry grew up in Richmond, KY. He earned a BA from Trevecca Nazarene University and an M. Div. from Nazarene Theological Seminary. Harry was called to pastor here in Louisville in January 1988 and become the pastor of First Church in January 1994. Harry is married to Anita and they have three children: James, Jeanie and Nathan. In his free time, Harry enjoys reading, fishing, spending time with his kids and “outside” work.

Some of Harry’s favorite sayings/quotes are:

  • “The way you see the problem is the problem.”
  • “What is the relationship between potential and performance? There is none.”
  • “Jesus loves me this I know”

Pastor Curry loves the scripture and is committed to “saturation” in the text as a lifestyle. He is very excited about the future of our Church – and his excitement is contagious!

Glenn Cantrell – Worship Pastor

Glenn was born and raised in Louisville, KY.  Glenn and his wife Jane have two sons, Michael and Stephen.  Glenn joined the Navy at 18 years of age and retired with 20 years of service in 1995. He has lead worship services for about 15 years, serving full and part-time staff positions at various non-denomination and Nazarene churches. Glenn completed his bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville, “on the fifteen year plan”.  Glenn became a Christian at 17 years of age while attending a church youth camp and traveled many years with his Grandfather, a pastor, helping him with the music.

  • Favorite song lyrics sung by Stephen Curtis Chapman; “There’s no better place to be, than a road that leads to Heaven, no other place I rather be.
  • Favorite saying is “Turn that thing it Up”.
  • Favorite scripture is: Psalms 42 1-2; “As the deer longs for flowing streams, so my soul longs for you O God.” That is my prayer, that he will continually keep me longing for him.
  • Passion: To lead His people into worship.

Sherri Wade – Children’s Pastor

She is married to Jim, and they have two daughters, Megan and Kaitlyn and two grandsons, Ethan and Eli. “Thankfully the Lord sent me Jim, he’s my go-to-guy and right arm, His love, support and willingness to indulge my “great ideas” helps keep me and Children’s Ministry on track.”

Sherri believes God has given her a heart for Children and their families. Her approach to Children’s Ministry is to share the Gospel in a creative, challenging, stimulating and vital way that will create a hunger in Children to seek and know God. Ultimately, it is her heart’s desire for all Children to know Christ as their personal Savior and to live a life truly pleasing to Him.

“The Lord has blessed me beyond my wildest imagination through the Children and Families at First Church. It is my pleasure and privilege to serve them.”

James Curry – Youth Pastor

James has been the youth minister at Louisville First since May 2009. He and his wife Jenna really enjoy working with the youth.

In his spare time James likes to play basketball and ride motorcycles. He grew up in Louisville and is the son of Pastor Harry Curry.

James says “I never would have seen myself in ministry but the Lord had other plans for me.” James continues to be amazed at what the Lord is doing for him and in the life of the teens.

Carmen Wilson – College and Career Pastor

Carmen joined the staff at LFCN in May 2010.  Carmen grew up in Louisville.  She studied Religion/Pastoral Ministry at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN.  Before she came to Louisville First she was a youth pastor in Roanoke, VA.  In her spare time she enjoys reading, genealogy, and making anything crafty.

Carmen loves spending time with college students.  She believes that the college years are very important in the development of young adults.  It is her desire that college students would find their identity in Christ during a season when the world is telling them to find their identity in their career, education, money, “freedom” and relationships.
